A great radio, in its time. It did produce some predictable spurs due to
the mixing scheme. In the Charleston area there are a number of Metrums
around. The radio came in two power levels, 10W and 25W and had a number of
options. IIRC the stock radio was 6 channels and expandable to 12. Each
channel was capable of a standard offset o zero for simplex and -600 KHz
for repeater operation. There was an optional offset board that allowed two
other offsets for each channel. I helped design and build a four channel
scanner module for the Metrum. The Metrum was a Motorola modified Triton
VHF marine radio placed in a bronze colored housing.
