Batlabs has links to a few different designs of "RIB-less" programming adapters. I'd recommend getting at least a knock-off design RIB so that way down the road you have other options. I have the one that has a DB-25 and an RJ-45 on it with a selector switch to choose whcih to use. That way you can use a standard network cable jumper to connect to your Max/Rad/GM mobile and a few others.
