[Motorola] Base Radio Model and info

John,

Before going too far into this, we're going to need the complete model
number of this station, which will be something like C73RTB3106BT. This
number will be on an aluminum tag riveted onto the top rear of the
cabinet, or possibly glued somewhere on the unified chassis.

Does this station have an antenna relay? If it does, it's a base
station. In order to convert this station into a repeater, a lot of
work is involved. Repeater stations have additional shielding panels on
the exciter and receiver shelves, and the interconnect boards have
additional components to prevent RF intrusion during full duplex
operation.

It's possible to modify a high-split UHF station to a low split, but it
is a awful lot of work to do properly. There are several dozen
components in the PA alone that are different between the splits, and it
is a royal pain (and expensive) to make the modification.

Please respond to this list with the model number and part numbers of
the major components, so that the MICOR buffs can help you. Be aware
that converting this unit to anything other than the Amateur Radio
Service will violate its Type Acceptance and be illegal in Part 90 or
95.
