Hi Group,

   Thanks for the response Glenn.
Your idea that it was for an aftermarket PL seems to
test out. I've been able to get audio at two levels.
As you can see in the pic there is a white, yellow,
and purple wire that go down somewhere either to the
main rcvr board or under it. I just happened to touch
the purple wire and SURPRIZE! I got a hum akin to what
one gets when touching the tip-connector on an audio
amp input. I've also been able to ascertain that the
green and orange wires connecting to J3 of the inter-
connect board are on the AUD MUTE (J3-5) and DET AUD
(J3-6) pins respectivly. With the DET AUD line and
the purple (AF Amp IN ?) connected there is MONDO
audio but it is not 'clean' (i presume because it's
being taken before the audio filters), with the
yellow wire (coming up in front of C1 on the inter-
connect board, the audio is clean but not very loud.

Just want to make sure I'm not doing a NO-NO here,
before I wire these (yellow + purple) together and
temporarily tape them up.

There has also been what looks like a 12kohm 1/4w
resistor placed inline between the white wire from
underneath C1 to the PL toggle switch on the face.
Anyone have any idea what THIS resistor might be 4 ?

I suppose I could pull up the Mitrek chassis, remove
the bottom cover and see where these wires are going,
( the white, purple, and yellow ones )
but I wanted to stay away from moving TOO many pieces
around in this until I confirm that it's working NOW.

There is 12V between the red and black wires (incl in
the bundle going to the option) connected to the main
voltage buss behind J1 on the interconnect board of the
Mitrek (where the ferrite bead is installed, at least it
LOOKS like a ferrite bead :).
I've isolated these so there won't be any shorting, and
will insulate them with tape before I close the rig up.

I can't figure out WHY a MoTech would use a CS TS-32 PL
board in such an application (esp for a State Agency)
instead of using the OEM HLN4020A so 'reverse burst'
function would be available. Or does the TS-32 have
that feature ?! At least the HLN4020A plugs into the
interconnect board like it was designed for it <wink>.

TA Glenn,
                 Bruce
