[Motorola] GM300 PL Problems

Hello List.
I am making a cross-band repeater but testing it with VHF-VHF with the freqs
of 155.725 pl 100.00 and 158.880 pl 186.2 the cross link cable is from:
Radio1                           Radio2
PIN 3 PTT         ______________ PIN 8 COR
PIN 8 COR         ______________ PIN 3 PTT
PIN 5 TX Audio    ______________ PIN 11 Disc Audio
PIN 11 Disc Audio ______________ PIN 5 TX Audio
PIN 7 Gnd         ______________ PIN 7 Gnd
Now I programmed the RX for 155.725 with CSQ and tx as 158.880 pl 186.2 when
i key it up I get a pl of 100.0 but the rx radio is programmed as
CSQ. Could it be from the protable I am using? if so I wouldnt be getting
the pl of 100.0 on the 158.880 if it's got a pl of 186.2 programmed into it.
If anyone has any info the might help me that would be great. Thanx
