[Motorola] Disabling DPL w/o major hardware changes ?

Hello Group,

I've confirmed the proper operation - at least as far
as RF goes, of the Flexar (L24TRK3102AH) I plan to use
for GMRS comms. The TX is: CC4267 RX is: RC0177
I'm seriously wondering how close the tag still is, as
there seem to be some major number series differences
on the PCB's from what's outlined in the manual.

Unfortunately it's only the 2w version so I'll probably
either have to add an outboard PA later on, or swap out the
internal Amp (TLE8953A) circuitry with a 30w version.
The manual I have shows the TLE1833A (30w) for the PA behind
the UHF 450-470 split exciter. Would this be a workable
choice for upgrading in this unit ?
Thoughts/Experience on that ?

But first off, I'd like to disable the DPL function with-
out having to do major R&R, as I may plan to enable that at
a later date. The DPL board is: TRN4237APR
I'm hoping there is a jumper(s) that can be changed to disable
that board, and use only carrier squelch for the time being.

I do have the 68P81035E55-F Flexar Manual, but haven't
been able to find several of those board numbers therein, and
the PA boards are COMPLETELY different from what I have in unit.
Perhaps I need some supplemental updates to it :-/

Any related info appreciated.

TIA - Bruce
