Question.... Got a MOTRAN base/repeater... Tx is (based on xtal
calculation) 453.175, actual is 453.180 (no big deal)... Problem is, as
soon as we plug it in (granted, its with a crappy antenna) the test
receiver being used (Yaesu VX5R or FT847, across the room) opens squelch,
as in receives signal.... and I can still hear it on the HT 10 feet away,
through a wall... and this is with the MOTRAN UNKEYED. when it is keyed
up, I can still hear it (a bit better)...the audio is also a bit
weak....anyone have ideas?
(no, i haven't tuned it as per manual yet... I wanted to see where it
transmitted as i got it, but i would think that I should not get that
strong of a signal with the unit unkeyed, and with the covers on and all
that good stuff.....although my antenna IS a mag mount on top of the
cabinet....but that shouldnt be a problem, should it?)
oh yeah, one final note... The unit is running about 10 watts keyed
down...theres no PA in it.
Thanks
Ken
