[Motorola] can a 2-channel HT-1000 be expanded?

Thanks, I'm just wondering about a side effect that I noticed that
happened with an HT-600 a while back. I lost what I had in channels 2, 4,
& 6, but you could hear 1, 3, and 5. My dad thought it was because of it
being worn out, but this radio was one that he got in 1987, and it started
to do that about a year later.
