Jim's correct. Encrypted communications are not allowed in amateur
radio. We are permitted to use spread spectrum technology, but have
a look at the rules and you'll see detailed specifics of the limits
on spread spectrum we can use. Basically, the rules prohibit us from
transmitting "cryptic" communications.
