[MohawkARC] QRP from Mt. Wachusett

Hi all,
This morning I went up to Mt. Wachusett to do some QRP work.  I was approached by a park employee and asked if I had a permit.  I asked "for what?"  He said I needed a permit to broadcast.  I explained that it was a ham radio and I had an amateur radio license from the FCC, but he said that didn't matter I wasn't allowed to use my radio.  I was going to stop by the visitor's center on my way out to find out details, but being Columbus Day it was busy, and I didn't want to bother them.  Just wondering what people know about this?  Have you heard of people being kicked out for ham radio before?  I was a little shocked...
