[MohawkARC] 2011 Field Day

Hi everyone,

 

I'd like to thank those that have taken the time to fill out the Mohawk ARC
Field Day Survey.  Your dedication to the hobby and the club are admirable
and much appreciated.

 

However, there were only two persons that were willing to commit for the
weekend and only six persons who committed to working the event part time.
These numbers are far too small to make a viable 2F station practical.
Considering the small numbers of persons that are willing to work Field Day,
I have decided to attend my nephew's wedding in western New York instead of
operating Field Day here.  This was not an easy decision because I don't
like to disappoint the club members especially those that have committed to
Field Day.  With that said I must also remove the Gardner EOC from the list
of Field Day sites as well.  Opening the EOC for a meeting in my absence is
one thing but opening the building for a weekend without me being there
would not be acceptable to the Fire Chief or City Hall.

 

I hope the club decides to hold Field Day at an alternative site and I hope
to hear N1WW one the air.  On Sunday I will be operating from the North
Tonawanda, NY EOC with my old radio club, the Amateur Radio Association of
the Tonawandas under the call sign W2SEX.

 

My son and wife will be here in Gardner thus if anyone needs to get a hold
of me they can through my home phone.
