I hate rust, so just as an added precaution when drilling car body parts,
I always paint the newly exposed raw metal with something, almost anything
to prevent rust cuz once rust starts, it's harder to stop. Grab most
anything handy, even "borrow" a little nail polish from a YL. A wrong color may
not even be seen and in any case is still better than rust. Probably more
important for those of use in northern climes where road salt is used, but
still a good idea no matter where the vehicle is used. Did I mention my
dislike for rust? Just let whatever you use a few minutes of drying time before
dragging cables through the hole.
Just my 20,000 microdollars, YMMV, FWIW, and so on.

Best,
Sonny N1KHB

Hey Ray, I have a 2015 Ram 2500 4x4. If you pull back the carpet ( just
pop out the plastic retainers) under the drivers side rear seat, you will find
a plastic plug that also pops out. Just notch the plug enough to pass the
coax through, replace the plug with RTV orother silicone type sealant
around the coax entry and your done. Don't forget to tye wrap the cable to a
frame to prevent coax droopunder the truck. Your done! For the power leads,
there is a plastic plug just next to the brake cylinder on the firewall,
carefully drill a shallow 3/8s inch (or larger)hole. Check out the clearance of
any wiring harness by looking at the plates location above the brake peddle
behind the instrument cluster.I have wired up several Dodge trucks, they
make it easy! I can send you photos if needed of the installation. Glenn
