At the site below, I found a possibly better answer for the heat shrink
sleeving replacement for the Hustler antenna coils.

Interested in what the rest of you think about it, or may have done for
your system.

I have been running the Hustler for a very long time and I have found if
you buy the larger coil and remove the cover, remove the screws and
remove the coil, drill some holes(1/8 in the drum)Don't remove or chip
the red coating on the coil. replace the coil and top and screws and
spray paint the coil with clear Krylon abt 5 coats.Don't replace the
COVER. You will find that the heat build up you had befor is history and
it tunes much easer.(tune for lowest swr and install a matching coil) I
use 40 meters most of the time and my 40 meter coil has abt 100 + kc
band width and runs nice and cool. Try it, I belive you will like your
Hustler better than before. 73 De WA4EX-Sonny
