Diesel repairs are very expensive. I had 8 fuel injectors replaced in a 2005 F-350 and it was $4,000.00 . You can replace a gasoline engine for that much. To install a rebuilt 6.0 in my blown 2003 Ford Excursion with 350K miles was around $13K. And I got several quotes. Unless someone needs the torque for pulling trailers or RV's its probably better to purchase gasoline powered vehicles. Unless one always gets rid of there vehicle when the warranties expired. I found diesel fuel economy to be cheaper than my gasoline powered trucks even with diesel costing more. Now thats E Texas and NW La. fuel prices with diesel costing $3.50 a gallon. But we are going CNG around here and if one does not pull heavy loads CNG is the way to go at $2.00 a gallon. I ran it years ago and it was ok for a Ford Ranger company vehicle. The only problem was they did not install but one tank and had to fill up every other day. The gasoline system is still intact and if one runs out of CNG you just hit a switch and go back to gasoline. If I did not pull RV's and trailers I would go CNG . Diesel fuel is not cheap either. Here in PA it's pretty expensive.
