Have spring fever, so last weekend I cleaned up the Trail Blazer and
re-installed all the ham gear for tomorrows trip from Indiana to TN.
Have been using the Trail Blazer while it is parked in the garage, and
the HF mobile gear all week from my easy chair using the TH-D7A walkie
talkie via SkyCommand. Nice way to keep the gear with in operational
reach even at a distance.
Will finish loading up the Trail Blazer today and heading for Tennessee
in the early morning. Will be gone for a couple of weeks visiting family
and friends. Other family and friends are keeping the home occupied
while I am gone and will stay in touch via the internet.
Will be operating across the dial from 10 meters through 160 meters. Do
make frequent calls and monitor on the HfPack frequencies when I am not
roving the bands or in a qso. Especially 40 and 20 meters, and if the
bands are open, do some visiting to 10 - 15 meters too. HfPack voice
frequency list is at: http://hfpack.com/air/ Primarily: 3845.0, 3996.0,
5371.5, 5403.5, 7185.5, 7296.0, 14342.5, 14346.0, 18117.5, 18157.5
Plus love AM, so will be on the popular AM frequencies 10-160 meters as
well ...
Will also be listening on 144.39 and using a pl of 100hz transmit, and
a receive pl decode of 100hz. APRS will be sent by the TM-D700A
primarily, but also some times by the HT and Smartphone. Has been nice
when some of you folks called as I passed through your area and we have
enjoyable qso's. Will be listening for you via APRS, and of course can
do HF voice as we want to.

"APRS Viewer" on Android for displaying APRS stations only, no beacon /

Will have a laptop full time connected to the internet for the trip
while on the road. Will be feeding Radiation Counts Per Minute (CPM) to
the Radiation Network Map at http://www.radiationnetwork.com/ While I am
in motion the Station Icon with the current CPM displayed on it will
show my position and direction. That station icon will start moving from
its current location in the N.W. corner of Indiana by South Bend. If you
joined up to the Radiation Network group, their software program would
also let you look up specifics about a station's equipment, and a GPS
panel with more information about the motion activity when they are
mobile. http://www.geigercounters.com/NetworkVersion.htm
Both the Geiger Counter Map location and the APRS operation have offset
factors being used that move the real location a few miles from where I
am at in real time. Close enough to make the data useful, but not close
enough to lose my privacy .... hi hi
Best of the weekend and the holidays to you and yours.
