[Mobile-Portable] Dodge Caravan with High Sierra

I'd say it is most likely that you have a
grounding problem somewhere.
 
Any "screwdriver" type HF mobile antenna
demands a good ground.
 
My 10-year old HS-1500 gets cantankerous,
especially on 75m when the "hot" connection
between the mount and the coil base gets flaky.
Same for flaky ground connections.  Mine is
mounted on a High Sierra post mount on rear
bumper's left corner of a '99 GMC Sierra p/u.
