[Mobile-Portable] antenna mounting position?

    I like the way that you think!  :-)

    I bought a full size Chevy van ... before fuel prices
went nuts ... and it had a TV console between the front
seats ... where the HF-VHF mobile station was supposed
to be!

    Wasn't long before it was gone ... am completing the
assembly of my portable station in two top-opening
vertical aluminum cases ... and need to get some antennas
mounted.

    Am appreciating the discussion here since it has
motivated me to get back to that project!
