[Mobile-Portable] follow-up - 101ZD in mobile

Scott...

Glad you had some success.

However, sorry to say, but you are starting to put one band-aid on another.

The inverter was the first band-aid. OK, it works, but now you have RFI, and
it appears the the inverter is barely handling the current load (works OK
intermittent duty, SSB, but pukes on tune-up).

You might have some luck with the RFI by installing ferrites on all your
power & control leads (more band-aids), and putting time/effort/money into
grounding.

Your inverter alarm issue will probably not surface for another year or
two...until your connectors and wires start to have some corrosion and the
resistance goes up. Or, if you happen to add a few more devices to the power
supply output. The inverter alarm is trying to tell you something.

By all means try all this in the car...it is a totally different envrionment
than the house, garage, even parked in driveway. When your car is in motion,
it is a whole new set of variables!

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I've been there...getting enough
Volts x Amps, a quiet environment, an antenna the radiates, etc., etc., is
not easy. Wish it was.

Good luck & 73

Dan
