[Mobile-Portable] A 2 Meter radio question

Kenwood TM255A all-mode, now discontinued, but you can kind them, has a remoteable control head.  This is the very BEST 2 meter mobile ever made, bar none. 

If you've ever used the TS-50 HF rig it will seem VERY familiar.  A bit different front panel, but same size box and the mobile brackets, etc. interchange.  Read the eham.net and QST reviews.  Buy one and you won't be disappointed. I have three, used in the home shack, as well as in the mobile, and another set up in a Pelican box used for RACES deployments.  Good weak signal rig, virtually intermod proof and durable for rig for digital ops too.  It also has a transverter display mode in the menus if you are into microwave. 

If you can find a clean used one they are well worth the $300 or so you expect to pay now.   GREAT RIG!
