[Mobile-Portable] A 2 Meter radio question

Hi,
Originally I intended to buy a new dual band rig for the truck, but some
expected income from the sale of a boatanchor receiver isn't going to
materialize, so I need to cut corners a little, probably just getting a 2
Meter rig (which I use mostly anyway).
I have a brief question here. I have two 2 Meter mobile rigs, an Icom
IC-229 H (mounted in the shack operating position) and a Radio Shack HTX-212
(no bracket) as a spare. I am VERY picky about how I install a rig in the
new truck and have decided that a removable (remotable) faceplate is a
necessity as such a faceplate will fit into the armrest cupholder quite well
(with the radio under the seat).
The only problem is, nobody seems to make a single band rig with a remotable
face, at least none that I can find in the AES catalog etc. Are/were any
such 2 meter rigs made, either presently or in the past that I can try to
locate?
