Do you have any idea what a modified 20 meter Hustler looks like? This
antenna is 14 feet from the ground. Yes I do smack tree limbs. I am not
going to get into any kind of leaking contest over something as simple as an
antenna. Also, I will put this antenna up against any screw driver or any
other mobile antenna on 20 meters. BTW, the entire body and chassie are
grounded. I would guess that there is very little RF lost in this system.
Also, you couldn't give me a screw driver antenna. Been mobiling for over 30
years. I don't claim to be a know it all. I just use what works.

JV,
It's OK to disagree, but you are incorrect in the fact that because
you have 100 watts at the base of the antenna, you're radiating 100 watts
from the antenna. The only power you can radiate is what's dropped by the
radiation resistance of your antenna. Any other resistance, ground, vehicle,
ohmic losses in the coil will take away from your radiated power. If you
could measure all these losses, you'd find out your 100 watt input is
probably only radiating 5 watts worth of power. If you want more radiated
power, move up to one of those shorty type screwdriver antennas. You'll be
amazed!!
