In all likelihood, your vehicle came with resistor
sparkplug wires. I think it might be law as they
have been installed at the factory for many years.

Subject: [Mobile-Portable] Ignition noise in Toyota Sienna van
I have a TS-480 in my 04 Toyota Sienna van. Everything works fine but
the van generates massive ignition noise. The TS-480 blanker works
pretty well but the noise is so bad sometimes it really overwhelms the
blanker. I would like to give the blanker some help by finding ways
to at least partially reduce the ignition noise. Does anyone have any
experience with ignition noise reduction in late model Toyotas? Is
there a web site which might help? In the old days we would get
things like resistor plugs and resistor wires but I don't know if
that is the right thing to try on modern computer-controlled engines,
etc. Any ideas?
