[Mobile-Portable] Outbacker

Jim,

If you only operate 20M and up, then hamsticks, outbackers, and most 
anything else will work pretty well.  Below 20M, however, you need to get 
serious about your antenna if you want any sort of decent performance.I 
used an Outbacker prior to switching to a screwdriver.  Not a bad antenna 
considering what it is.  It was most definitely better than a Hamstick, but 
can't hold a candle to the screwdriver, particularly on 75M.  If you want 
light weight, easy on/off, and are content to stop and change taps to 
change bands, go for it.  But if you are really serious about HF mobile, 
consider a screwdriver or some type of bugcatcher.
