My HF installation in my 2000 Yukon (first year for new series) is 
comparatively quite acceptable from a noise perspective. Certainly when 
compared to Explorer I had before that. Now four model years later I 
would expect that the GM RF engineers would have done even better.

I don't think you can expect to get away with skipping some of the most 
basic HF mobile installation techniques on any vehicle. Even diesels 
(and I have a diesel motor home) which have no ignition noise, CAN in 
many instances be prone to noise from electronic injectors, fuel pumps, 
Engine Control Modules, marginally shielded or balanced interconnecting 
cables, poor cable placement, altenator/regulator noise, and so on.

I did no magic on my Yukon, just the norm, and am very pleased with the
