It's not always the vehicle's fault. Installation techniques can make all the difference.   My 99 GMC Sierra crew cab has the quietest mobile I've ever heard. Just to attest it's quiet, check out Wd3p's QRPp info at: http://qrp.kd4ab.org/1999/991029/0027.html .  I've been able to copy him when he's running as little as 2 milliwatts, and I'm driving down the roads at interstate speeds.
