I use Miller Hash chokes and put one in the positive and negative leads
feeding the radio. You can get them from Mouser, or any distributor that
handles the Miller line. They come in different current ratings. I use
the 10A version. Assuming all is well with your electrical system and
alternator, this should get rid of the whine.

I am getting reports of apparent alternator hum(?)
on my 2m rig. Does anybody have any specific
experience or recommendation? I ran 12 (maybe
14) gauge wires directly to the battery.
