Scott,
One caveat about the 213 braid application. I tried that trick on my 94
S10 Blazer. A similar technique was written up in a QEX article.
Even though I was running brand new GM factory ignition wires, I
immediately started to get arcing through the wires and onto the braid. As
a result I abandoned the project because of misfires and poor engine
performance. I asked a mechanic/ham friend about this and he suggested
putting something between the ignition wires and the braid, such as plastic
spiral wrap, to provide a bit more insulation. I did not go back and try
the technique again using the spiral wrap.
So just be prepared for some potential problems when you apply the braid.
These new high energy ignition systems really pack a wallop!
