Well then I think you've already answered your own question. If looks are
the driving factor, then pick the antenna that you think looks best on the
vehicle. You've already accepted the compromise in performance.
Having run a screwdriver for years, I swear by them. I use the screwdriver
for HF and a Larsen dualbander for 2M/440. No 6M as I run a TS-50. I envy
you as the diesel should eliminate all of the ignition noise prevalent in
modern gas vehicles.

Subject: [Mobile-Portable] New car and considering new antenna setup!
I just bought a new car a couple weeks ago, VW Jetta TDI diesel. I have a
High Sierra that is about 1-1/2yr old and I am considering a new
installation on the new car. My High Sierra is gray and my car is red so I
could paint the antenna and go with that setup again or I am considering a
little more of a compromise antenna, Diamond HV7A. Anyone have any
experience with this antenna and can give me a little feedback as to how it
works. I like to idea of using only one antenna for 70cm/2M/6M/and HF. I
know the performance will not be as good as the High Sierra but...cannot
bring myself to put a huge antenna on that car.
