I've been running a 100A radio power supply circuit on my pickup truck
for years with no problem. Before that, a 60A supply circuit in my
Plymouth Acclaim, again for several years with no problem. It doesn't
make sense that an HTX-10, which draws very little current, would cause
your alternators to fail.
Let us know what you find!! I assume (based on vehicle age) that you
have changed batteries from the OEM - did you have problems with your
alternators with the OEM bateries? If not, did you replaced OEM
batteries with the same brand batteries in both vehicles? Looking for
common factors; I would hypothesize that your batteries could be the
problem if they are same brand.....
Please advise - interesting situation (instead of frustrating, which it
must be for you - HI!)
