Anyone got input or thoughts about the TRC-10 WW2 era HF CW portable ? It seems to me to be a ruggedized, maybe, version of the PRC-1, for the Pacific War area. I have a bunch of paper about discussions between Pilot Radio Co. and military about changes requested to design. It looks to me like the TRC-10 finished design never actually got put into use before the show was over. But we know - i think - the virtually identical PRC-1 was used - maybe - in Europe, altho in very small numbers at best. And the TRC-10 i have seen
I found an old magazine reference that talked about TRC-10s being given to Civil Air Patrol units in postwar, but that had to be a very limited number of radios and - the TRC-10 was CW transmit only, which certainly wasn't a good match for CAP use.
I have the TRC-10, AC supply, docs, and some antenna items. I should put it on the air - i have heard tell that the HF CW bands are less congested now. Maybe we should have, like a humorous suggestion in QST some years back, a "SKN": "Spy Key Night".
