[Milsurplus] Vintage LF/MF Fun with my BC-453B

In the mid 1980s, I took an RAK receiver to a friends camp in the
Adirondack mountains. We put up a longwire antenna, and powered the
receiver with batteries. The camp was lighted by propane, so there was
nothing else electrical for miles around. At the time, I didn't know
exactly what I was hearing, but there was far more on the air in the
bands from 500 KC down than either of us imagined. The RAK tunes a bit
higher than 600 KC, so DXing some broadcast stations was fun too. Who
else has gone on an LF DXpedition, either a really remote location or
even in a park?   Has anyone ever heard an LF broadcast station from
Europe? It would be interesting to compare an RAK,  RBA, and BC-453 in
the same place, powering them all with batteries.
