Well, I have ignored that "suggestion" and have always found it usable despite it having been "opened" for a year or more.I just reseal the lid, wrapping tape around the joint.I suppose the makers could have changed the packaging for economic-input reasons since, but that is how I used to do it.Brenda's suggestion also works for our needs.Ken W7EKBSent via the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, an AT&T 5G smartphone

However, it says once you open it, you cannot use it any more. So, you have to use all 16 oz at once. 73 – Mike  Mike B. At today's rate of inflation, $9.95 for 16 ounces is not what I would call "high dollar" even on fixed retiree income. Here is a link to the correct stuff.  https://www.acehardware.com/departments/heating-and-cooling/chimney-and-flue/chimney-brushes-and-accessories/46623?store=04538&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw16O_BhDNARIsAC3i2GAghZR4SSCkpcAWUYmnWe3OkftpYTAz9WMcZ4Ybj3baAAJl6NA01xgaAhVhEALw_wcB Ken W7EKB  Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, an AT&T 5G smartphone  -------- Original message --------From: "Charlie L." <mjcal79 at gmail.com> Date: 3/30/25 06:04 (GMT-08:00) To: milsurplus at mailman.qth.net Subject: [Milsurplus] Furnace cement  Since neither of the emaIls had links or pic attached,  looked that up on the font of all things Amazoned, there are a few options including JB Weld high temp super glue. The stuff in the caulking gun tube or squeezable tube may just be high temp silicone which I have used but don't think would sustain pulling or twisting of a plate/grid cap.  The real issues is that the stuff that looks like it is real furnace cement comes in high dollar plastic tubs, enough to fix a million tubes with. Charlie, W4MECVirus-free.www.avast.com
