Which reminds me....
Some decades back, i bought a WW1 German field radio, model 'MFuk', no i kid you not; this acronym means "Medium Power Wireless".
It's in one of Fritz Trenkle's books. I wrote the maker also, which was still in business then, DTW.
It had two edgewise panel meters. Pretty darn modern style, i thought, But the RF antenna meter was nonfunctional. I tried to repair the
meter but i'm afraid i just futzed it more. But it still conducted, so could be left in place. I reallly need to sell that thing, and i mean, back
into Germany where it belongs. The 'quenched gap' display was something to behold. August Link, some of you may know that name, i did
some big trades with him, anyway, i needed a cover for the quenched gap, and he sent me a "spare". Now, who has spares for a WW1
German spark transmitter ???
