Ironing might work but when you've only one example to play with, you tend to be less adventurous with possible corrections. One problem, as I see it, is we don't really know what the material is, precisely, so we have less knowledge about how it will react to lots of heat, etc. Unless we have sacrificial copies to experiment with.

Hot water, lay a sheet of aluminum over them, then run an iron over that to "re-set" them?
I've seen plenty with the issue, but never played with reversing the process.
Anyone else here part if the "SCARS" forum, Southern California Antique Radio Society?
I bet more than a few there have had to deal with the issue.
