IF the set covered 40 without alignment trick i would be in love with
it, but 80 band just does not interest me. So that means my interest in
WW2 "combat tactical" equipment, that is, <6 MHz, has ebbed in favor of
skywave equipment.

I found it would double in the final to 40 meters without any trouble,
and made contacts, though I don't remember how much power out.  5-7
watts rings a bell.  Mine tuned the bottom of the 40 CW band- I don't
remember if I "fudged" the Osc. or not.

Have you seen the "complete, NOS" 474 with accessories on Ebay for
$3000?  The more those of us near or in retirement watch our money decay
away, the more desperate they seem to be to get silly money for their toys,
the market for which collapsed years ago.  Kinda sad.

If you ever want to sell or trade for those 474 canvas pieces,
I'm certainly interested.
All the best,
Dave AB5S
