At the Beseda auction, Portland Oregon, May 2024, there remained unsold a BC-342 and a couple big National semi-communications receivers, R-644 ?? There were 4 RBM receivers with NO cabinets, and RBM accessories such as ACPS
and receiver switchbox. At this other sale a couple weeks ago closer to home, there were 2 RBM receivers; bad storage
had decayed the plastic over the tuning dial; also one or two of those big National or Espey receivers. I don’t know if this
stuff will ever sell and it’s really not my problem, altho i do have to wonder their fate. Maybe part of time’s process is to
thin out the oversupply of obsolete equipment. Of course the process is not perfectly intelligent; there’s a definite
underrepresentation of Viking swords and Roman armor, for example.
