Hi

They are pretty much a “straight off the spec sheet” implementation of the switcher chip.
The parts used are the minimums the manufacturer recommended. Parts types are the
typical “low bidder / Chinese market” stuff. They do indeed work fine (at least the ones
I have used work fine).

They have no input or output filtering. No added protection for this or that. It’s just a *very*
basic switcher at an affordable price. There are hundreds of folks selling pretty much the
same thing.

Plan on putting it in some sort of enclosure (making sure to deal with the heatsink going
to the outside …). Also plan on designing up both an input and an output
filter that have common mode chokes as well as conventional low-pass stuff in them.

That specific listing has some errors in it. The Chinese to English stuff doesn’t always
quite work. It most certainly does *not* put out 900W while puling 15A at 12V… To even
get to the ~ 100W level, you will need a pretty darn good fan blowing on that heatsink.
