[Milsurplus] Tankie - Talkie

A Quora topic recently digressed ( normal ) and i mentioned the 'Tankie - Talkie'.  There's a video you can see on Youtube, i
think Solomon Islands, where a foot soldier is walking behind an M-4 and holding a phone ( attached by cable to back of tank. )
I recall seeing this tank phone listed in one of Fair's old catalogs. I suppose the phone would have to have some kind of signal
light to indicate "call waiting", that is, someone picked up the phone from the tank's phone box. Anyone know more about this
circuit ?
Yes, i wondered, why tankie-talkie when there was SCR-300 for the troops and VRC-3 on tanks in the Pacific War. Probably as
back-up or insurance.
