[Milsurplus] [MMRCG] Navy RAS Receiver - Better Audio Fidelity?

Think you may want to look at your receiver's audio chain? My RAS 5 with stock power supply, speaker and coils has good audio fidelity? I also have the Navy Limiter modification. Years ago, I did change out all of the old wax capacitors to mylar (Orang Drop). using period cans and the high impedance headphones output is not fun so almost always use the stock speaker but after years of running AM on forty and eighty have never had an issue with fidelity. The AVC mode is a bit limited on strong signals, but the RF gain always works and in AM using the RF gain the receiver sounds good? the big issue with that radio is the appearance of images on strong signals and being careful that you are not tuned to the image but only find that to be a problem on strong broadcast signals.
Between using that receiver for CW on eighty also use it for listening to local Talk radio with the 0.9 to 2.0 coil.
Have the entire service manual and can forward it to you from my computer at work, internet connection at home is to slow.

Is the bandwidth limit only in the IF filters or are there also filters in the AF stage?

Where can we find a schematic of the RAS receiver?
