[Milsurplus] Navy RAS Receiver - Better Audio Fidelity?

Three things about the RAS receiver,
First, the manual is available on BAMA, but look in the National
section, not military.
Second. On the paper labels, I seem to recall that someone
was selling paper RAS labels about 10 or 15 years ago. I think, but not
sure, that it was Glen Zook, K9STH. I remember being interested in that
I had a couple of coil sets without tags, but decided the labels
didn't look "real" enough.
Third. The Navy's Catalog of Electronic Equipment 900,116, linked to
on Nick Englands website at https://maritime.org/doc/ecat/index.php#toc
lists replacement transformers for the RAS to widen the IF bandpass.
This made the CNA 46080 into a CNA 46080A.
I've had my RAS-2 (minus frame and speaker panel)since my high school
days too many years ago. Used it with a DX-40 as my Novice Station for
a few months.
Bought it from a friend of mine one weekend, and started firing it
up on Sunday afternoon. It came to life, but the dial was slipping.
No set screw. Chances of finding a set screw in a small town in the
Nevada desert on a Sunday afternoon being slim, I raided my Dad's
jar of bolts, and found a round headed brass bolt with the proper
thread. Problem solved.
That brass bolt is still there to this day. I could quickly
replace it, but just can't bring myself to do it.
