[Milsurplus] BC-348 modifications

Some years back I did a you tube video of the most common modifications that were all out of the CQ Surplus conversion handbook, that includes the AC power supply with re-working the filament string, initiation of the S meter and replacement of the audio output transformer for a low impedance transformer. A couple of other things to look at are to be certain you have the resistor in the B- of the HV supply to bias the audio output tube and maybe things like if it’s a Q swapping the 6SK7 in the front end to 6AC7 tubes for lower noise. Oddly the receiver in that video no longer exist, couple years ago picked up a BC-348-Q that was internally hacked to death but strangely had a perfect front panel. Ended up using the chassis of that radio and built up a version that looks all original on the front, along with the shock mount but has an AC power supply and low impedance audio output for driving regular speakers or headphones.
