An antenna tuner is overkill, in my opinion. These work well enough without.
I think one of the conversion manuals had a short article on changing input
to low-Z antenna match ? If i recall, their way was to use a fixed capacitor
to ground, and the antenna input was to it instead of high end of tuned
circuit. Actually, to me anyway, the high impedance input as used in this and
the ARR-15 receivers works surprisingly well, something i wouldn't have
predicted just looking at the schematic.
