After downloading the manual from BAMA, it looks to me to be a very well-designed and
interresting radio. Uses Collins mechanical filters.
I have always had a "thing" for receivers, probably because my first ones were so really
terrible: Halli S-41G, S-38D, Heath AR-3 in which the BFO never worked.
When I was able to use an SX-28 once, I was amazed at what a decent receiver could do.
BTW, I have a really strange HF receiver here. I have never seen it or anything about it
anywhere else. I was eventually advised that there was a manual for it which a W2 station
found in a dump and sent to me. It uses pie-wedge shaped "tuning units" in a horizontal turret
and no RF amp. Signals go directly to some sort of very high-end product-detector. As I
remember it, the detector is some sort of Pullen-type. I'll try to get the model number off it
later this week and some photos for y'all to view.
I would apprecitate any information and/or advice anyone here might have about it.
