Yes, the location of the ANT TRIM control at the middle right side of the front panel means it is either an R-390/URR or R-391/URR, and not an R-390A/URR. Jim's information about the CHANNEL switch at the middle left side of the front panel seals the R-391/URR identification. Good job, Jim!
Too bad there are no R-389/URR sets in the mix. :-)
I'm a fan of the significantly improved and simplified R-390A/URR.

Sure looks like it, Jim. I don't think I've ever seen an R-391 until you mentioned it.

Looking at the second operator from the right, there appears to be a cluster of four knobs just below the LINE meter. That fourth knob would be the CHANNEL SELECTOR which would make the radios R-391s.Jim-----Original Message-----From: Tom B <tbryan at nova.org> (mailto:tbryan at nova.org)To: milsurplus at mailman.qth.net (mailto:milsurplus at mailman.qth.net)Sent: Thu, Sep 8, 2022 1:43 pmSubject: Re: [Milsurplus] Can anyone ID these Aussie HF Intercept Receivers (used in Vietnam)The photo looks strange but they they are all R-390 or R-390A. There is something mounted above them. Maybe a TTY demodulator. I am not sure.
