Howdy Brian,
There's no accounting for taste. I've seen a variety of garish R-390A
paint jobs, doubtless all done by hobbyists. When I lived in Indiana, I
knew a geezer who restored dozens of SP-600s in many different bizarre
circus-day color schemes. From talking to him, I got the impression
that he felt he'd gone as far as was practical with electronic work on
the receivers, and so turned to decorating them...
