[Milsurplus] LS-306 speaker question

I found in my stuff an apparently new boxed LS-306/SIC speaker. Online specs say ~5000 ohms, 70 volt system.
Does this have possibilities for a general use comm receiver speaker? Or is that silly ? I have not yet opened it
up to inspect the innards.
The prices asked for this item are breathtaking. It's a speaker box with volume control, for heavens sake, even
if the volume knob is in steps, not continuous.
