Ray -
1. International shipping via FEDEX or UPS outrageously expensive, AND requires lots of paperwork.
2. USPS is our only practical option for international shipping.
3. USPS only requires customs forms.
4. USPS raised the rates again...
5. Very likely the package size is "large" or what USPS considers over-size , which adds to the price.
6. Package is heavy.
7. The price quote is for RETAIL or over the counter. Commercial rate is lower. Use PayPal for shipping and you'll get the commercial rate... Note - use the link below, generic shipping is not available from the usual PayPal menu (I don't know why).

Hope the buyer(?) has deep pockets...

I have to ship a receiver from Maryland to Melbourne, Australia. It weighs just over
forty pounds all packed up. FedEx is quoting $1,246.41 and two weeks to ship, DHL is
around $850.00 and USPS is saying six to ten days for $295.00
Anyone have any idea why FedEx is so expensive? Anyone got any ideas of how to ship
that's less expensive?
