[Milsurplus] BG-174 / GRC-9 question

I have an antenna bag for the GRC-9. One of the MS elements won't fully seat down in the sections pouch.
I felt around near the bottom of the pouch and I feel "something" down there. Now I don't know if this is a correctly in place plug, to prevent the sharp bottom of the MS section from eventually tearing through the bottom of the antenna section pouch, or if someone crammed something down there. It doesn't feel like cloth or a rag, it feels like a cylinder. So am I just not seating the MS section right, or is there likely something someone crammed down into the bag? There are two of these section pouches that have this "whatever" at the base of the antenna section pouch. If it needs to be removed, it won't be entertaining to accomplish.
