My Dad always referred to the "cheater cord" as a suicide cord. He labeled it the most dangerous troubleshooting tool available presumably because when plugged into an outlet the clips were "hot"! Another key teaching he had was when probing a live circuit, keep one hand in your pocket and both eyes on the other hand....

Do you suppose OHSA knows about cheater cords?

After 60 years of messing with this stuff, and making a living at it,  I have never heard the term 'suicide clips'.  What is that?  Don't tell me they are a basic alligator clip, or does it become a suicide clip if it doesn't have a cover on it?    More of the 'Contact' instead of 'Break' new-speak?
