The British system to jam the German night fighter command and control was called Tinsel which operated over 3 to 6 mc. Don't know if American forces did the same since they operated during daylight hours and had fighter escort.

No, first I've heard of it. Any clue as to what was different about it? In
the photo that you remember seeing, did it appear to be painted or red
anodized?
I'm afraid that I have to add, though, that it sounds more like an olde
wives tale than an actual fact.

Has anybody ever seen up close and personal, or have, the red face BC-375 TU
that was used for jamming communications in the ETO? Does anybody have any
specs on it? Several years ago I had seen one picture of it installed in a
B-17 along with the others to the right of the passage way opposite the 375,
and that was in the forum section of a on a B-17 squadron site online.
